Commitment
Bible Study - 11-06/2014
Taken from this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYGG3R9NDuo
Scripture : Genesis 29.
Without commitment, nothing happens.
Jacob worked 7 years for Rachael. After 7 years he is tricked into marrying her sister Leah. Leah has many children but the focus is on her first 4 boys. Here Goes...
1. Reuben means " he had seen my troubles- You can't be a christian or a believer because it's the new thing to do, or because of just anything you can only do it when you realise that your old life is misery and that it is not for you and until you are sick and tired of the flesh and the heart. You can't change something that you worship
2.Simeon means "has heard"- You have to HEAR the word. So you can tailor your situation to the Word. Faith is not just thinking and hoping but it's hearing the word of God. If you look at the idea of Grafting. Grafting is taking skin from one place to another place and holding it there until it sticks. It's same with the word. It's a long process.
3) Levi- means to be attached/ joined/connected/focused/committed. You can not make relationship without reciprocity. You can not get into a relationship to get and not give. You have to give as good as you get or else that relationship won't work.
4) Judah means praise- we are living in a generation that likes blessings, favour and praising. We want Benefits but no responsibility. But realise gosh True quality never goes on sale. The only thing that goes on sale is cheap stuff. The real authentic stuff costs what it cost. If you something authentic you are going to need to pay for it & Put your everything into it.
Here are 4 areas in your life you need to be committed:
1. Your first commitment is to God. The one who gave you life. Give him your whole heart. Not your shouting crying and dancing that is commitment. Worship is spirit and in truth.
2. Second is To Family. You better be commitment. To the we and the us and not the me and the you.
3. Commitment to church.- This is t just a Sunday thing. You and I both know that going to church on a Sunday only is not commitment, it would be like going to work or school on Monday only and not returning till the following Monday.
4. Commitment to your dream. - If you really want it, you are going to need to work for it. It's not all glamour. The bible puts it this way " if we suffer with Christ we will also reign with him". TD Jakes says this " no cross no crown, no crown no cross"
Commitment isn't easy, but it is worth it. I'm ready to take my commitment to the next level, are you?

It Is Finished!
JOHN 19:28-30
28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled,Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
It is that time we call Easter. We have all enjoyed the holiday and the chocolate. But Easter is more than a holiday or a "Holy-day". It is about Jesus. This may not meaning anything to you so lets look at who JESUS was and what his life was all about.
Jesus was a good man who was put to death. He was however, more than just a man, He was and is the Son of God. He is the the one who came down to earth from heaven, from eternity into time. He Came to show us as Humans the way. He lived a sinless life. Yes. Jesus lived a life without sin. Jesus was a real person, who went through REAL things. He was beaten, whipped, wounded, spat on, mocked, his skin ripped off him and in this weakened condition he was made to carry a heavy wooden cross which he was then nailed to and crucified.
God Shed his blood for us. Me you and we were all bought with a price. If we bring this back to the modern day world, If you go to a shop, there is a transaction that takes place before you have officially bought that item. This is what Jesus did. Jesus Christ came to rescue/save us.
Now you may ask, what does it mean when He said "It is Finished". In the Jewish language, the words "It is finished" in the Jewish language mean "Paid in full".
Yes, Jesus died for us, Yes he was buried but yes he is ALIVE.
Amazing isn't it...

DON'T ACCEPT IT!
A few weeks Ago my Pastor PREACHED such a great messaged titled:
You often find that people come into a country with their same old thinking, and although they may be highly intelligent or very skilled , their mindset remains the same causing them to work in lower paid jobs. There needs to be a radical mind change so that those who have qualifications and other skills aren't working in low paid jobs.
Proverbs 4:24- Reads: Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.
Most of us believe something wrong about ourselves. Although we may look good on the outside, and have cute clothes on, we still think bad about ourselves. Whether its that you think you cant do something or cant have what some else has we think something wrong about ourselves. But we need to realize that the problem isn't always the Devil... Why? Because Jesus already defeated him! The problem is with our thinking.
We as humans often like to deal with Symptoms. So, if you are depressed you will be given anti-depressants to deal with the symptom. However, 4 hours later those symptoms return and you need to take more medication because we are dealing with symptoms and not the root CAUSE. But the Bible deals with causes. We need to get to the root to of the problem.
You may be unhappy and you don't "feel" that anyone or anything is helping you, but the problem is not with anyone but yourself and your thinking. Stop looking for someone or something to blame and just...
"Don't Accept it" Based on Mark 10:46-52.

....Don't Accept it....
Wherever you are from you are shaped. If you come from a house that never taught you positive things, you are shaped and grow up to think that certain way. That's why you find adults cant cope with certain things.
Lets look at these few examples:
Your past: For example a 40 year old women cant have any peace with her husband. Realize that the problem didn't start when she was 40 but it could of started deep in her childhood and she never dealt with it.
Stereotypes: Many of us may be down there because of the labels teachers may have put on you or the Names that people gave you. At times we try to act like everything is OK, but we let the lies and stereotypes that people put on us shape us.
Look at the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34).Think of the fact that this woman was dying and weak because she was bleeding so much but she had made up in her mind that she was gonna push her way through the thick crowd and touch the the hem of Jesus' garment.
There are some things that no doctor, psychologist or any person can fix but only God can fix it! Nothing will change in your life until you make up in your mind that you want change!
...Don't Accept It...
Everybody is in love with something. Most of the stuff that we are in-love with is WRONG. If God tells you to let go of something it just means that He has something BETTER for you. But because you don't THINK well of yourself you just accept and settle for the less. We are also way to concerned with IMAGE. We read magazines, books and watch shows to try and create our won image. But if you read GEN1:26, you can really find out who you really are and don't need anyone to validate you!
Gods word is medicine. You CHOOSE to take it.
God has something that we need but we want him to always come down and do everything but Jesus says whatever you need... come to me. Gods Word is there to make you better just like medicine.....
(There is even more to this AMAZING life changing teaching but I couldn't possible let you into it all, so.... you will have to buy the CD)

Women of purpose.
Wow what great words of wisdom we received at our fellowship on Friday the 31st of January led by First Lady Cynthia Maddix. Here are my notes~ Be Blessed.
Scriptures: Phillipians 4:2-9, Proverbs 23:7, Ephisians 6:10-19 and Collosians 3:4
If this year you want to move forward, take into deep consideration these 6 Points:
1.Next level loving God
2.Next level loving you
3.Next level loving people
4.Next level loving life
5.Next level loving prayer
6.Next level loving the armour of God (which is the word of God)
2.Next level loving you
3.Next level loving people
4.Next level loving life
5.Next level loving prayer
6.Next level loving the armour of God (which is the word of God)
And how can we do the above? It just takes a few adjustments that will make your 2014 different. You will need to:
Change your thinking.
Change your life.
Change how you see you.
Change how you see people.
See people how God sees them.
To all the Ladies, God wants you to smile and be successful women. Know that you are made in Gods Image and that means that you are beautiful. Beauty starts from the inside and also needs to be reflected on the outside.
I admire people who can speak the truth out of love. The characteristic of boldness. Why do i say that? Because my beautiful First Lady speaks the truth in and out of season and it challenges us to become better, wiser and stronger women of God. It should be considered an honour to have someone who will tell you the truth regardless of the possible attitude after or reaction and response to what they are saying. I think all the ladies who attended the 'Women of Purpose' Fellowship can stand in agreement with me in saying that we received an impactful message and I invite all females ages 16+ to join us at the next 'Women of Purpose' Fellowship. Youth and Young Adults.
2 Timothy 1:5-7 says " I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." (NIV)
Whilst preaching this message, my Pastor gave a great example. He told us that whilst he was ministering(speaking) to two 18 year old boys, he asked one of them about their faith and beliefs and the boy replied by saying that he has been to many of his friends baptisms however although they claim to be Christian they live evil lives.
WOW. Pause for thought.
We need to understand that when you profess to be a Christian, people automatically begin to watch you. You are a leader and ambassador of Christ therefore you need to be living a right, holy life at all times because you are representing a righteous, Holy true God. Watch your attitude as a Christian is right and remain pure. Sometimes we may not even realise that someones salvation is tied up in our lives and if we are not setting a true and good example of "Christianity" then we are the ones to blame when we can see no growth in the Kingdom of God.
People are looking for something that is REAL. No body likes fakes. People are looking for 'authentic' and sincere Christians with sincere faith. The greatest thing in your life is your faith. Faith is greater than anything else because when all the money, products and people leave your Faith will still remain forever.
In verse 6 of 2Tim1 Paul says " Fan into flame the gift of God which is in you". The KJV puts it this way " Stir up the gift, which is in thee". God has given us all gifts, but what will we do with them?...
People will always be frustrated when they are not living in their gift . The gifts you have are not for you they are for God, Nothing was created for you and its not yours. "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him."-Collosians 1:16

We need to be careful who we run with (even in the church), because the truth is that everybody is not your friend. Real friends will tell you the truth whether you like it or not. They wont tell you what you want to hear or what will make you feel better. Its important, that especially as Young people that we are surrounding ourselves with the right people who can help us make the right decisions.

Thought for today... #NextLevelThinking
It is more than just reading or knowing a story in the bible. How can you apply it to today, to your life ? The bible is relevant today and contains so much you will be surprised. My Pastor said on Sunday that the bible wasn't put together by mistake, it has a structure. For example Psalms is put at the centre of the bible because it deals with worship and worship should be the centre of our lives. Its amazing to think that most of this worlds principles come from the bible, when we truly get a full grasp and understanding of the bible we can change our lives, change our society and change this world. Take time to study the Word and learn about your creator.
Blessings ~xo

Next Level Thinking
Provers 23:7 Reads : "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he..."
People in the World understand the principle of "thinking" better than most people in the church. Your next level thinking can determine the rest of your year and life. If you live an unhappy life, the main reason behind that is probably your thinking. The rich people out there made up their mind that they weren't going to be poor. Although we often see the final product of people success we should consider the hard work that was put in in the process to get there. Their thinking allowed them to overcome the obstacles in order for them to get to their goal.
Change your thinking from today.
Don't be a weak thinker. Go beyond the ordinary. Don't just life a mediocre life. You and I were destined for greater. Don't let your past, present, stereotypes or circumstances hold you back from achieving your dream, vision, business plan or whatever it may be.
Dream BIG because God is a BIG God. We are all given gifts and talents. The truth is you cant truly find your gift until you know the giver of the gifts. God gives us gifts for His purpose. Your skill isn't always your gift; Be careful not to spend your whole life operating in the wrong gift.
Read Chronicles 1:7-12- (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Chr%201:7-2Chr%201:12) Here God asks Solomon what Solomon wants, and Solomon asked God for Wisdom and Knowledge. This is very important because Solomon could of asked for riches, honour or even for his enemies to die but he didnt and because of his reponse, God Blessed him with wisdom and knowledge but also with wealth, riches and honour. The question is: If God were to ask you what you want, what would your answer be? What is in your heart? Before you change your thinking, change your heart.

Everyone is chosen to do something significant in their life.
Question to self: Will I maximise my life this year or will I waste it? Everyday is an opportunity. Think ambitiously from today and move forward always. God bless.

Happy new year!
Happy new year to you all. Isn't it great to still be alive. Even just in these 4 days of 2014 I've already heard of people who have past away but yet we are atill breathing. All Praise, Glory and honour belongs to God. At this time I would like to encourage you all to start of this year with a positive and excited mindset for the year ahead. This year claim what is yours. Challenges will come but know that you can over come them with God.
Those of you who don't know God. Get to know him. He is a father to the fatherless, he is a counsellor to the broken hearted, a comforter to sorrowful and much more.
A motto for this year in the words of my beautiful First Lady:
Love God. Love people. Love Life.
