Commitment

Scripture : Genesis 29.

Without commitment, nothing happens.
Jacob worked 7 years for Rachael. After 7 years he is tricked into marrying her sister Leah. Leah has many children but the focus is on her first 4 boys. Here Goes...

1. Reuben means " he had seen my troubles- You can't be a christian or a believer because it's the new thing to do, or because of just anything you can only do it when you realise that your old life is misery and that it is not for you and until you are sick and tired of the flesh and the heart. You can't change something that you worship

2.Simeon means "has heard"- You have to HEAR the word. So you can tailor your situation to the Word. Faith is not just thinking and hoping but it's hearing the word of God. If you look at the idea of Grafting. Grafting is taking skin from one place to another place and holding  it there until it sticks. It's same with the word. It's a long process.

3) Levi- means to be attached/ joined/connected/focused/committed. You can not make relationship without reciprocity. You can not get into a relationship to get and not give. You have to give as good as you get or else that relationship won't work.

4) Judah means praise- we are living in a generation that likes blessings, favour and praising. We want Benefits but no responsibility. But realise gosh True quality never goes on sale. The only thing that goes on sale is cheap stuff. The real authentic stuff costs what it cost. If you something authentic you are going to need to pay for it & Put your everything into it.

Here are 4 areas in your life you need to be committed

1. Your first commitment is to God. The one who gave you life. Give him your whole heart. Not your shouting crying and dancing that is commitment. Worship is spirit and in truth.

2. Second is To Family. You better be commitment. To the we and the us and not the me and the you.

3. Commitment to church.- This is t just a Sunday thing. You and I both know that going to church on a Sunday only is not commitment, it would be like going to work or school on Monday only and not returning till the following Monday.

4. Commitment to your dream. - If you really want it, you are going to need to work for it. It's not all glamour. The bible puts it this way " if we suffer with Christ we will also reign with him". TD Jakes says this " no cross no crown, no crown no cross"

Commitment isn't easy, but it is worth it. I'm ready to take my commitment to the next level, are you?
