Youth and Young Adults.

2 Timothy 1:5-7 saysI am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." (NIV)

Whilst preaching this message, my Pastor gave a great example. He told us that whilst he was ministering(speaking) to two 18 year old boys, he asked one of them about their faith and beliefs and the boy replied by saying that he has been to many of his friends baptisms however although they claim to be  Christian they live evil lives.

WOW. Pause for thought.

We need to understand that when you profess to be a Christian, people automatically begin to watch you. You are a leader and ambassador of Christ therefore you need to be living a right, holy life at all times because you are representing a righteous, Holy true God. Watch your attitude as a Christian is right and remain pure. Sometimes we may not even realise that someones salvation is tied up in our lives and if we are not setting a true and good example of "Christianity" then we are the ones to blame when we can see no growth in the Kingdom of God.

People are looking for something that is REAL. No body likes fakes. People are looking for 'authentic' and sincere Christians with sincere faith.  The greatest thing in your life is your faith. Faith is greater than anything else because when all the money, products and people leave your Faith will still remain forever.

In verse 6 of 2Tim1 Paul says " Fan into flame the gift of God which is in you". The KJV puts it this way " Stir up the gift, which is in thee".  God has given us all gifts, but what will we do with them?...

People will always be frustrated when they are not living in their gift . The gifts you have are not for you they are for God, Nothing was created for you and its not yours. "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him."-Collosians 1:16

We need to be careful who we run with (even in the church), because the truth is that everybody is not your friend. Real friends will tell you the truth whether you like it or not. They wont tell you what you want to hear or what will make you feel better. Its important, that especially as Young people that we are surrounding ourselves with the right people who can help us make the right decisions.
