My first poem written 2 years ago

See this is the problem with the people of today
All ages, all genders, all races, all lifestyles
Doesn’t matter we always find a way

We find it so hard to realise the truth
From old age to middle age to even the youth

In fact it’s us who do it the most
We complain, we accuse everyone but ourselves
And just to add we always have to boast

Finding reasons to have hate one another
Instead of loving, comforting and caring for your brother
Your sister, your best friend, your buddy, your mate
There comes a time where we want to just dictate

We want to be heard but we do not listen
We want everyone to understand the depth of our opinion

Forget the feelings; the mood swings the happy and the sad
Remember ourselves, our struggles the things we never had

The world is full of hypocrites, I am one myself

We don’t want to be judged, but we give ourselves authority.
We make entertaining our boredom the main priority

We gossip we talk this gives us a thrill
But when it’s our turn to be talked about the thrill turns into irritation
And violence becomes a big temptation
Again I say we are too quick to judge
But when people do it to us, we quickly hold a grudge

The thing we like to do, is criticize people’s lives
We mock their activities, their hobbies, their opinions and mistakes
We torture them with laughter and abuse, no matter what it takes.

The most hurtful thing is we don’t realise we do it
Its only afterwards we recognize our deeds
What we don’t understand is bringing down someone else’s life
Has Become part of our needs.

A joke, some fun “it’s just a bit of banter”
These have become our excuses
Our reason for each other’s bruises.

When will this stop?
The Truth is never
I look in the mirror and just think whatever
I know my mistakes my wrongs and my actions
But today people do things just to get some reactions.
